INDIVIDUAL, COUPLES, AND FAMILY THERAPY
I work hard to understand each client and family member’s challenges and dilemmas, and to create an atmosphere of trust so that each session becomes a place where one is heard, understood, and supported.
.
I am a therapist with more than twenty-five years experience treating all manner of couples issues, family problems, grief and bereavement, depression, anxiety, and all manner of adjustment challenges. My primary goal for therapy is to assist my clients in meeting and responding effectively and confidently to the challenges of their lives in their roles as partners, parents and individuals.
Here’s how I help
-
COUPLES THERAPY
Through my training and experience with the PAIRS approach to Couples Therapy, I think of the primary “client” as the relationship itself. I strive to understand the challenges and dilemmas of both members of the couple. Once I have achieved a level of trust with each individual, I will assist the couple in making changes in the relationship that are designed for more harmony and thoughtfulness, and are built to last.
-
FAMILY THERAPY
As a family therapist trained in the eco-systemic model, my family therapy helps family members learn and practice more effective communication styles. I will try to understand how each family member experiences their roles in the family. I will help each family member understand and validate each member’s experience, and help them develop plans for more effective communication.
-
INDIVIDUAL THERAPY
Through our therapeutic partnership, we can develop a plan for successful therapy that sets goals and reviews progress regularly. I will help each client explore their own past, with the intention of coming to a better understanding of how these past experiences may be impacting their present functioning, and we can then plan and practice desirable life changes that may come to light.

LICENSURE SUPERVISION
As a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and AAMFT Approved Supervisor, I provide supervision for therapists looking to attain licensure. I will also provide systemically focused supervision to any therapist looking to add such a perspective to their clinical work.
